A great vintage: Three Glasses to Filari di Timorasso 2022 from Luigi Boveri Winery
October 2024. Azienda Agricola Luigi Boveri is experiencing a period of success, thanks to numerous awards from the most renowned wine guides. Among the absolute protagonists stands out once again the Filari di Timorasso 2022, a label that has already won multiple awards in the past, and this year it won the Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso.
This ageing white, from marly-limestone soils, is distinguished by an elegant and complex bouquet, with fruity aromas on the nose of golden drop plum and lime, followed by sweet spices, wonderful memories of tropical fruit and acacia honey. The sip is broad, structured, with freshness and fantastic sapidity. Elegant and long-lasting on the palate, Filari di Timorasso 2022 has enough structure and intensity to allow unusual pairings for a white wine, such as meat dishes and cured meats.
The Timorasso Derthona 2022 also racked up awards, receiving Five Bunches from the Bibenda guide and the Corona di Vini Buoni d’Italia, the highest award for wines made from native grape varieties. Sourced from clay-limestone and marly-limestone soils, this Timorasso has an intense and luminous straw yellow color, enriched by golden highlights with age. The aroma is intense and elegant, with fruity and citrus scents that are fresh in youth and evolve into mineral and fruity notes. Its taste is warm and structured, with good persistence and a perfect balance between acidity and minerality. Suggested pairings include savory pies, cheese risottos, structured and savory fish dishes, medium-aged cheeses and vegetable flans.
“We are honored by the appreciation received from the leading industry guides,” comments Luigi Boveri, owner of the company. “These awards are a significant confirmation of the daily commitment that our family has been carrying out with passion and dedication for more than 30 years.”
An important year, this 2024, which also marked the beginning of the collaboration between Azienda Agricola Luigi Boveri and Visconti 43, part of the Meregalli Group, which handles wine distribution throughout Italy.
But it doesn’t end there, because the Luigi Boveri Winery has opened up again this year to welcome the most passionate winelovers. Starting on Friday, October 25, in fact, the evenings organized by Matteo and Francesco Boveri, the young third generation, resume with the Autumn in the Glass event. Every Friday and Saturday evening, starting at 6 p.m., it will be possible to taste Luigi Boveri’s wines in an informal atmosphere at the tasting room, equipped with a large terrace overlooking the vineyards.
This space of more than 120 square meters, together with a 50-square-meter terrace, can accommodate between 50 and 70 people seated, and up to a hundred standing, becoming a meeting point for all winelovers in search of quality wines from the area. A natural continuation of many years of work under the banner of passion for the heritage of the Tortonese Hills.
