Luigi Boveri, a double win for Timorasso Filari and Timorasso Derthona 2022
by beverfood
A hot autumn of awards for Azienda Agricola Luigi Boveri, which stands out thanks to accolades from leading Italian wine guides. Among the protagonists is Filari di Timorasso 2022, which won the prestigious Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso and the Gemma di Vitae in the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) guide, reserved for Quattro Viti wines with a score of at least 94/100. A Timorasso dei Colli Tortonesi DOC, from marly-limestone soils, it conquers with its refined bouquet: aromas of golden drop plum, lime and acacia honey, enriched by sweet spices and tropical hints. In the mouth, it is ample and structured, with remarkable freshness and sapidity. A long-lived white that surprises with bold pairings, such as meat dishes and cured meats.
Also on the shields is Timorasso Derthona2022, which shines with Cinque Grappoli Bibenda and the Corona di Vini Buoni d’Italia, an award of excellence for native grape varieties. Sourced from marly, clayey soils, it sports an intense straw yellow color and an aromatic profile that evolves with age: from fresh citrus to minerality. The taste is warm and persistent, with a masterful balance between acidity and savoriness, perfect with cheese risottos, structured fish or aged cheeses. “We are honored by the appreciation received from the most authoritative guides,” says Luigi Boveri, owner of the winery, “These awards are a testament to our 30-year commitment and the passion we devote to our wines every day.”
The year 2024 also saw Azienda Agricola Luigi Boveri’s distribution innovations, thanks to a partnership with Visconti 43, part of the Meregalli Group, for nationwide coverage. The winery renews its commitment to wine lovers with Autumn in the Glass, a tasting event organized every Friday and Saturday evening. In the tasting room with panoramic terrace, visitors can discover the wines in a cozy and convivial environment. An example of excellence in the Colli Tortonesi, Luigi Boveri continues to express the richness and complexity of Timorasso, winning the palates of critics and enthusiasts alike.
