As happens in many Piedmontese families, our farming tradition is lost over the generations. It is the land that has allowed us to come to this day, to feed us and allow us to make wine.

Our story (Germana and Luigi’s, ed.) began in 1987. Me behind the bar counter in Carezzano and Luigi in Montale, already focused on vineyards work. Luigi’s father started the production of bulk wines typical of our territory: Barbera, Croatina, Cortese.

Luigi was already moved by his a passion for rural life: working with tractors, growing plants, making wine.

It was our passion for this kind of life that brought us together, bonding two people with such different interests and backgrounds.

In the early 1990s, after an experience as a land surveyor that brought me to know a sectoral and specialized agriculture, I realized that in order to do something different, at that time unique, I too would have to specialize in a sector. From this input and from my passion for what I had always done in my family…my wine was born. The love of winemaking grows along with the history of us as a couple. The dream of our own label takes over from the rest. Thus, in 1992, we created our first label.

I still remember with tenderness when Luigi decided to bring ‘cold’ to the cellar. We did not have great economic possibilities, so he used a trick.

With the help of enologist Giovanni Bailo we thought of inserting a coil in the well of the family home that allowed us to control the temperature. The result that came out decreed a real change from the winemaking my father had taught me. It was difficult to explain to customers that that was the way to go.
